Welcome to the Warminster Art Society website
The Society is run by a group of enthusiastic volunteers who love art and meet to share this passion.
If you would like to join the Society we would love to hear from you - click on the 'Contact Us' link below the picture to send an e-mail.
Members meet every Tuesday afternoon 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm, for studio sessions from September until the end of May, at the Community Centre in the town park. Turns are taken to provide a still life study or to pose for portraits but some artists prefer to bring work in progress to complete. Occasionally a model is hired for a life drawing session. At regular intervals during the winter, recognised experts give stimulating lectures and demonstrations of diverse subjects and techniques in different media. Saturday Workshops are arranged with qualified tutors at intervals throughout the year. We live in a most picturesque part of the country and the Society makes full use of this by arranging visits to various locations within easy access by car from Warminster in the summer.
Exhibitions are held in Warminster Library twice a year - usually in May and November - when members have the chance to display and sell their paintings. There is no selection policy as we believe the exhibitions should be open to all and that everyone strives to produce their best work.
